Baby squirrel

Hi all,
Not been a blog for a while, not because there are no interesting stories but because ive been mega busy.

So, anyone who knows me knows that I do not read the news often as it can be quite depressing. Instead I read the metro 'weird' section. For those of you who have never heard of Metro Weird it features stories (absolutely anything)  from around the globe which are a little unusual and generally very intriguing.

I'm on metro weird and the first article that appears is about a baby squirrel named TinTin. TinTin fell from a four story building injuring himself on the way down. A guy and his cat, instead of ignoring the situation, took the squirrel to the vets. According to the cats owner Decan, Coco the cat instinctively knew the baby squirrel needed to be looked after and cuddled him to keep him warm :-)

Saw this link on ITV news facebook page, such a touching video of a mum being reunited with her baby. So much love.

Not yet got to the bottom of why she was seperated from her baby in the first place.

A penguin friend

Hey,

Its been a good Easter weekend, lots done, far to much chocolate eaten plus came across this story in Metro, titled 'Penguin swims 5000 miles every year for reunion with man who saved his life'. An inspiration story of how one man helped a Penguin in need and the bond and gratitude that created.  To those people who say Penguins cant feel emotion or think, how do you explain this then???

When I read this story it conjures thoughts of some of my friends who live far away and so I don't see them for ages but when I do its like we haven't been apart.

Just goes to show you really do get what you give :-)

Cats and dogs

So they say cats and dogs are enemies,  fighting like cats and dogs is an expression you will hear in abundance.   However I read more and more stories on the internet that don't comply to this assumption.

For example, a dog called Opie saved a 2 day old kitten back in 2013 and they are now the best of friends.

Not the most heroic of rescues but in 2015 a dog assisted a cat who had a paper cup stuck on its head.  As we know the cat was uninjured as a result of its ordeal I feel its okay to mention that the videos are ever so slighty funny but it is lovely to watch the dog wonder up to the cat, grab the cup in its jaws and pull it off and thus freeing the cat. Some people suggest the dog simply wanted the cup, but I don't buy it (unless there was a secret compartment filled with steak).

Another good story to read comes from America when a dog was out on a walk then suddenly dived into a lake.  The owner was confused when their dog cane from the lake holding a bag of rubbish.....only to discover a bag full of kittens who would no doubt have drowned had it not been for this dog :-)  the best part is the dogs name is Napoleon.

Hello!

Hello!

My blog, titled Clever Fur, will share with you comic, moving and exciting stories about animals.

It really gets my goat when I hear people saying animals are stupid, perhaps they don't know any better but I've been around long enough to know this just isn't true. Personally think its more what some humans want to be true.

The first story I want to share with you questions do dogs have instincts to help human beings?

Back in 2013 a newborn baby had been abandoned in Birmingham. Jade, a German Sheppard, was out on a walk through the park when he suddenly ran away from his owner to a nearby bush and refused to come back when called.  Her owner then went to grab the dog who was crying next to what looked like an empty carrier bag only to see the bag move and discovered a new born baby who would certainly not have survived much longer left out in the elements.

So I think it would be fair to say that Jade wasn't protecting her owner or a member of her pack through thought of own protection or for food as this was a random new born baby.  Some instinct must have kicked in and Jade wanted to help, but also knew how to get her owner over to help.

I'm sure it won't come as a surprise that they named the newborn Jade.

Never stop challenging what you know to be true.
